Every stamped necklace, bracelet,
key ring or charm comes with a polishing pad to keep your jewelry
shiny and tarnish-free. Simply rub the charm with the pad until
any tarnish is removed. The blackened letters will not be effected
by the rubbing. For a more thorough cleaning, you can dip your
chain and charms into a jewelry cleaning liquid (the letters
will stay blackened in the liquid as well) and then polish with
a soft cloth.
Tarnish Prevention and
Cleaning The best solution for tarnish
is prevention. Silver
jewelry tarnishes when exposed to sulfur in the air. There
are
other factors that can cause tarnish (some skin types, lotions,
exposure to other tarnished jewelry, improper storage, etc.).
How your jewelry is stored can make a big difference in how quickly
your jewelry tarnishes. When not being worn, the jewelry should
be
stored in a closed jewelry box or better yet, a plastic bag.
It should not be touching other jewelry, especially if the other
jewelry is tarnished, and should never be left out on a dresser
or table!
Surprisingly,
the more you wear your jewelry, the less it will tarnish. Put
all your lotions, make-up and hairspray on first, then put
your necklace on. If your piece does get very tarnished (if
you just haven’t
worn the item in a while or left it out on a table) and your
polishing pad just isn't enough, you can soak the item in a
tarnish-remover liquid.
The letters will
keep their blackness if you don't soak for more than 5-10 minutes.
This is
also a good option for chains that have become very tarnished.
If you have tried all the above and are still having tarnish
issues, please let me know and I will try and work with you
on a solution.
